About me
I was born and raised in Lincolnshire, the youngest of 6 children. Back then I was somewhat of a free spirit, I loved being outdoors and was truly a wild child, however, if I had to be inside you could be sure I was making an artistic mess somewhere. Scribbling on my brother’s desk and bedroom walls was one of my most underrated masterpieces (think Crayon meets Sistine Chapel), some people just don’t recognise a masterwork when it’s scrawled all over their belongings.
From an early age I had a desire to be an artist. I saw my family take such joy and passion in it and that really inspired me. In fact, my mum loved art so much she couldn’t help but get involved when I had art homework, sometimes too involved, which lead to me having to prove I could replicate my [mum’s] homework to my class mates, luckily with some success (I hope).
I’m not ashamed to say my mum did my homework, as it wasn’t for lack of wanting to do it on my part, and as a result, I learnt from a young age that I could watch how she painted, illustrated and designed, and started to learn techniques from her.
Art, music and gardening have always been continuous themes throughout my life. As an adult they remain a constant source of relaxation and enjoyment for me. Despite having followed a career in a totally different sector I keep finding myself exploring art and finding any excuse to keep creating.
